New Petition Alert: Demand Portland Public Schools Remove BLM, Transgender, and Pride Flags!

Parents and taxpayers of Portland, wake up. Your public schools are being turned into billboards for woke activism instead of places for actual education.
Portland Public Schools (PPS) currently allows BLM flags, transgender flags, and pride flags in classrooms and buildings. These aren't neutral symbols of "inclusion", they're political statements pushing specific ideologies on impressionable kids. One group gets celebrated while others feel alienated or pressured to conform. That's not education; that's indoctrination on the public's dime.

What we're demanding:
Immediate removal of all BLM, transgender, and pride flags from PPS classrooms, hallways, and buildings.
Limit displays to the American flag and Oregon state flag only, these represent unity for every student, not division based on politics or identity.
Restore PPS as neutral zones dedicated to core learning: reading, math, science, history, and critical thinking, without activist symbols pressuring kids to adopt one worldview.
Why this matters now: Public schools belong to all of us. Taxpayers fund them to educate children, not to promote divisive social movements. When flags representing BLM (tied to a controversial organization), transgender ideology (pushing gender confusion on minors), or pride activism dominate the environment, it creates an uneven playing field. Kids who don't align with these views, or whose families hold different beliefs, can feel excluded or coerced. True inclusivity means no favoritism, no ideological signaling, just education for everyone.
We've seen the pattern across the country: schools prioritizing "woke" symbols over academics, leading to falling test scores, rising mental health struggles, and families pulling kids out. Portland shouldn't follow that path.
This petition is simple, focused, and overdue. PPS claims to value inclusion, but real inclusion doesn't mean elevating certain politics above others. It means staying neutral so every child feels equally welcome.
